Q:
What motivates you to share your love of books and/or candles?

A: I love sharing the things that I love with other people. It's like sharing a part of yourself. It's an, "I love this, I hope you love it too!" kind of thing. It's also so fun to watch someone's reaction to a book you love. Will they freak out at the same things or obsess over the same character? Or have totally different opinions that make you question everything?

Q: What are you currently reading/watching? Why do you recommend it?

A: I just finished King of Scars and ohmygosh. I have so many feelings I can't talk about because I don't know anyone who has finished it... I've been trying SO hard not to to give anything away to my friends that are still reading it. If you're a fan of the Grishaverse it won't disappoint! I think my next book is going to be Vicious by V. E. Schwab. I've heard lots of good things! I recently discovered Brooklyn 99 and it is currently ruining my life because I want to do nothing but watch it. I'm almost finished with season 2!

Q: Which scents/designs is your favorite?

A: My favorite candle is hands down House Intelligence (Black tea, paper, & leather scent). It makes my Ravenclaw self so insanely happy. I am also obsessed with the design on the Narnian Woods candle. It's so simple and so stunning.

Q: Why do you like to burn candles?

A: There's just something about the flickering of a candle. You really can't beat it. Plus they smell wonderful. What's not to love?

Q: Which fandom is your favorite, and why?

A: This is the hardest question EVER. I really can't pick between my love of Harry Potter, Star Wars, and Marvel. They are all so amazing in their own ways. I could probably write a book on why I love each one if I'm being honest.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2019?

A: As for what I'm looking forward to in 2019, new adventures. I love going new places, seeing shows, and trying new things. At the top of the list for sure is seeing Hamilton in March!

Q:
What motivates you to share your love of books and/or candles?

A: I started my bookstagram as a way to hold myself accountable for my reading goals and to share my love of books with my family and friends. It grew to be something that has connected me to thousands of other bookworm souls across the globe. I come from a family of readers so it’s definitely apart of who I am. I love storytelling and it’s helped me do what I do professionally as a graphic designer, well as create this little space on the internet to be my own personal creative outlet where I can share my loves of books and photography together.

Q: What are you currently reading/watching? Why do you recommend it?

A: I’m currently reading the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series and it’s so adorable! I definitely recommend the books and the Netflix movie is one to watch on repeat. I’m currently rewatching Gilmore Girls for the millionth time and just got caught up on Outlander...and this season was crazy. I definitely recommend it if you love historical fiction and Game of Thrones. It’s such a well done show!

Q: Which scents/designs is your favorite?

A: Oh man...so many! I love outdoorsy scents, so Night Court and House Bravery are some of my favorites. Buttery Brew is also a staple in my house since I love Butterbeer and the scent is so warm and inviting!

Q: Why do you like to burn candles?

A: It helps me de-stress! I love to come home, light a candle and curl up with my current read. It helps set the mood for a cozy night in.

Q: Which fandom is your favorite, and why?

A: Harry Potter always. It’s very reminiscent of my childhood, growing up waiting for the new books to come out, standing in line at midnight premieres and freaking out seeing it all come to life at Universal Studios. I think J.K Rowling created a world full of heart that brings people together.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2019?

A: Hopefully some awesome trips! Fingers crossed. And reading lots of good books!

Q: What motivates you to share your love of books and/or candles?

A: I enjoy having the opportunity to share something that makes you feel a sense of comfort and warmth. Everyone loves candles and when you combine it with your favorite fandom or book series, Forget about it! The world needs to know! :)

Q: What are you currently reading/watching? Why do you recommend it?

A: Im currently re-reading the Harry Potter Series. I recommend this series to everyone of all ages. Ive lost count of how many times I’ve read this series. It gives me a sense of comfort when I read or watch the movies. From when I was a little to girl, going to college, and now as an adult. Ill forever have love for the Harry Potter series and all that its taught me about friendship, love, and bravery. “Whether you come back by page or by the big screen, Hogwarts will always be there to welcome you home.” -J.K Rowling

Q: Which scents/designs is your favorite?

A: I love the Butterbeer, Pumpkin Juice, Lunas Room… Im just going to say all the Harry Potter series candles and designs. It brings the series to life in the best way! It adds that extra touch of magic to your ambience.

Q: Why do you like to burn candles?

A: Candles set the tone and scent for a room. Theres nothing like relaxing and reading while burning a candle related to the series. It adds another level of imagination. I burn scents depending on my mood and the season. With the exception of Magical scents, I can burn those all year round.

Q: Which fandom is your favorite, and why?

A: HARRY POTTER! My life is centered around the Wizarding World and all of the magic that surrounds it. Its a fandom I’ve always loved since I was a kid. The books and the movies are something till this day that I return to.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2019?

A: This year I’m focusing on self-care. Im looking forward to traveling with friends and finding the magic in everything.

Q: What motivates you to share your love of books and/or candles?

A: I was unaware there was a community within Instagram that shared their love of books until the beginning of 2018. The very moment I found out, I created an Instagram and joined the community. I love the idea of having a place to share the love of reading. I am from a town of 300 so there aren't too many avid readers in my area who get the joy and excitement that comes from reading. My mother was hugely influential in my love for reading so I like to think it would have made her happy that I am sharing my love with so many bookworms. She's also the reason I am obsessed with candles. She was always purchasing candles and lighting them in our home growing up. I can honestly say, I was EVEN MORE excited to find that there was book related candles that people were creating!

Q: What are you currently reading/watching? Why do you recommend it?

A: The last book/series that I read and would recommend without hesitation is the To All the Boys I've Loved Before trilogy. I don't typically read contemporary, like at all. I had seen it floating around Instagram so I decided to give it a try. The series is just so fun and adorable. This is one of those books that sinks its hooks in you from the very beginning. Every single word of this series is full of emotion...love, happiness, sorrow, heartbreak, regret. It was written with such realism that you experience everything it means to be a teenager, in my case, all over again.

Q: Which scents/designs is your favorite?

A: My all time favorite scents are those that evocate the feeling of being outdoors, in the woods. I love the scents of nature.

Q: Why do you like to burn candles?

A: Is it weird to say I love the flame? Candles allow you to enjoy the hypnotizing and calming aspect of a fire when you don't have the luxury of a fireplace. It also, to me, makes a house a home.

Q: Which fandom is your favorite, and why?

A: I don't think I necessarily have one favorite fandom. There are fandoms that I have the most merchandise for, and that's because it is readily available. In that sense, I would have to say it is either Harry Potter or all things Leigh Bardugo. I love that you guys include more of the classic literature in you candles and I think it would be great to see more products out there for the Gothic Literature. Those are my favorite and there is not much out there as far as merchandise goes.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2019?

A: I am most looking forward to growing more friendships and reading great books (most of which I would have never even heard of if it wasn't for this amazing community).

Q: What motivates you to share your love of books and/or candles?

A: I am the type of person who finds something that I love, and I soak it up with my whole being. It becomes a part of my identity as it takes residence in my heart. Books and candles are both things that bring me so much joy. How could I not want to share that joy with everyone that I know? Anyone that knows me knows how extremely nerdy that I am, and nothing makes me happier than when I can get someone else to love the thing that I already love so much. Finding friends to fangirl with you is one of the best feelings in the world.

Q: What are you currently reading/watching? Why do you recommend it?

A: I am currently reading the last book in the Throne of Glass series, Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Mass! (There is a theme that you will start to see as you continue to read my answers.) Let me tell you, it is an emotional rollercoaster! I had a friend who introduced me to SJM at the beginning of last summer, and I am so thankful that she did. I started reading her A Court of Thorns and Roses series, and I loved it so much!!!! (It is my favorite book series, y'all.) Once I finished those books, I had to read more, so I started the Throne of Glass series almost immediately after. If you are a fan of fantasy, romance, compelling and emotional storylines, and well-developed characters, I would highly encourage y'all to read them all!

As for what I am currently watching, I have two shows. The first being Brooklyn 99! Funniest. Show. Ever. It has replaced both The Office and Parks & Rec as my favorite show. The other show that I'm currently obsessed with is The Dragon Prince! I like to describe it as Avatar: The Last Airbender meets LOTR. It's so great. It's got magic, elves, dragons, the voice of Sokka from ATLAB, beautiful animation, and a heartfelt storyline. What more could you want?

Q: Which scents/designs is your favorite?

A: Y'all. My absolute favorite candle that we have Highland Bluff Studio is the Night Court candle. Not only is it beautiful, but it also smells amazing! The label says it smells like Jasmine and Sea Breeze. I would say that is very accurate. The jasmine gives you a soft floral scent without being overpowering. Whatever they used to make the sea breeze smell adds such a refreshing touch to its scent. Burning it disperses such a lovely, refreshing, and comforting aroma to the room. It also has the perfect amount of scent strength; it's lite but definitely recognizable. If I'm having a rough day, I simply light this candle, and it brightens my day (pun intended lol).

Q:  Why do you like to burn candles?

A: There is just something just so dang peaceful about burning candles. It's an instant mood booster. It’s also always a good time to burn a candle. Are you feeling down? Light a candle! Are you having a wonderful day? Light a candle, and your day will be that much better! Feeling stressed or anxious? Light a candle! Ya know what I mean?

Q: Which fandom is your favorite, and why?

A: I'm torn. On one hand, I am obsessed with SJM books (as y’all are well aware now). However, I've been such a big Harry Potter for the longest time! I grew up reading the books, and I'm always down for a Harry Potter movie marathon. It's one of the fandoms that is pretty much universally loved and has snuck its way into basically every other fandom. Think about it, what is one thing that we love to do with characters in a book/tv/movie? Sort them into a Hogwarts house! I love being able to ask people what their Hogwarts house is. (In case you were wondering, I am a Hufflepuff!) I could talk to someone about Harry Potter for hours.

Q: What are you looking forward to in 2019?

A: I am currently a junior at Texas A&M University. I'm studying to become a teacher (4-8 math/science)! The reason that I bring this up is because I am looking forward to becoming certified this year! At some point within the next few months, I will take my certification test, and if I pass, I will officially be certified to teach 4th-8th grade math or science!!!!!! Of course, there a few more details and steps that I have to complete before I'm officially a teacher (for example: graduating), but details, details! The idea of being that much closer to actually being a teacher is wild to me! (Pray for me lol.
